List Rules
The Rules of The Movies List
1. The List Defines Itself.
Not every good movie belongs here. Only certain films capture the feeling that defines The Movies List — and that feeling can only be understood by experiencing the list itself.
2. Every Movie Is Handpicked, Not Crowdsourced.
Each movie is selected only after being fully watched, reflected on, and considered carefully over time.
3. Once Added, A Movie Stays.
No movie will ever be removed. Each selection is made with conviction and stands as part of the record.
4. Fame, Fortune, and Credits Don't Matter.
A movie's budget, box office success, critical acclaim, cast, or crew have no influence on its inclusion. Only the experience itself matters.
5. Worth Your Time, Not Just "The Best."
A movie doesn't have to be a masterpiece to make the list. It simply has to be a film I believe is genuinely worth your time.
6. The List Grows Organically.
New movies are added only when they earn their place — not on a schedule. Sometimes many come at once. Sometimes years pass between additions. The list is curated by conviction, not by calendar.
